Tina Fey has been voted The Associated Press’ Entertainer of the Year, an annual honor chosen by newspaper editors and broadcast producers across America for the performer with the greatest impact on culture and entertainment.

From “30 Rock” to “Baby Mama” to “Sarah Palin”, the 38-year-old comedian capped a glorious year in 2008 by besting runner-up Robert Downey Jr. (blockbuster smash “Iron Man”), and the third-place Heath Ledger, who posthumously wowed audiences as the Joker in “The Dark Knight.”

Fey’s masterstroke was her indelible impression of Gov. Sarah Palin on “Saturday Night Live.” Her cameos on her old show (where she had been a head writer until 2006) helped drive the show to record ratings and eventually drew an appearance from Sarah Palin herself.

Oprah’s Favorite Things Are Now Recession Friendly

Posted by Jeflin on November 26, 2008

For years, Oprah has been giving away thousands of dollars in merchandise to Oprah’s audience members. It is common to get tickets to Oprah, fridge, TV, kindle, sometimes a car – all her favorite things.

Well, what did Oprah’s fans get this year? “Recession gifts,” or ideas for homemade knick-knacks! Can you imagine it? You think you’ve hit the lottery, and instead you get a book-club book and a free Christmas music download.

Oprah Favorite Things Are Now Recession Friendly

Oprah’s Favorite Things in 2008 ended up as stuff which can be bought at the dollar store! The recession friendly theme couldn’t have come at a worse time as pay cuts and shrinking assets have caused hardships for many of her fans. They could surely do with a new fridge and TV in their household this year.

I doubt recession has hit so hard for Oprah that she can no longer afford luxury goods. After all, the gifts in 2002 and 2003 were stupendous given that they were recession years.

Maybe Oprah is just preparing the ground for sacrifices when Obama is sworn in as President. The rich are going to contribute the most in his future economic policies since taxpayers had already been burdened heavily to save the bigwigs.

Megan Fox Wonder Woman Rumor

Posted by Jeflin on November 10, 2008

Hmm, look at the above picture… Megan Fox as Wonder Woman?

There are a lot of rumors saying that Megan Fox is the Wonder Woman but Warner Bros denied the speculations and corrected it by announcing that Wonder Woman is Megan Gale. Gale is an Australian supermodel.

I think both Megans have been mixed up. Even though Megan Gale’s spot seems secure, new rumors are circulating that Beyonce Knowles also wants the role of Wonder Woman.

How To Improve Relationships In Marriage

Posted by Jeflin on November 2, 2008

One of my friend sent me this email on how to improve marriage by understanding the psychology of men in general.

1. Men are NOT mind readers.

2. Shopping is NOT a sport. And no, we are never going to think of it that way.

3. Crying is blackmail.

4. Ask for what you want.

Let us be clear on this one:
Subtle hints do not work!
Strong hints do not work!
Obvious hints do not work!
Just say it!

5. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.

6. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That’s what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

7. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 Days.

8. If you won’t dress like the Victoria’s Secret girls, don’t expect us to act like soap opera guys.

9. If you think you’re fat, you probably are. Don’t ask us.

10. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one.

11. You can either ask us to do something Or tell us how you want it done.
Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.

12. Whenever possible, please say whatever you have to say during commercial breaks, not when the movie starts.

13. Christopher Columbus did NOT need directions and neither do we.

14. If we ask what is wrong and you say “nothing,” we will act like nothing’s wrong.
We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.

15. If you ask a question you don’t want an answer to, expect an answer you don’t want to hear.

16. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine. Really.

17. Don’t ask us what we’re thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss such topics as baseball, the shotgun formation, automotive, or golf.

18. You have enough clothes.

19. You have too many shoes.

20. I am in shape. Round IS a shape!

21. Bear in mind that sleeping on a couch is like camping to us. So we’re perfectly fine.

22. Sometimes we are not thinking about you. Live with it.

23. Sunday = sports. It’s like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let it be.

24. We don’t remember dates. . . .Period!!

25. The relationship is never going to be like it was the first two months we were going out. Get over it.

26. BEER is as exciting for us as handbags are for you.

How to impress a man:

show up naked and bring beer. :)

Remembrance of Silent Movie Icon: Anita Page

Posted by Jeflin on September 7, 2008

Veteran actress Anita Page, whose career dated back to the silent movie era, died in her sleep, aged 98 in Los Angeles.

Anita Page has an illustrious movie career and is one of the last known living attendee of the very first Academy Awards in 1929.

She counted Robert Montgomery, Clark Gable (a brief romanctic fling), Buster Keaton, Lon Chaney and Joan Crawford among her co-stars during an 84-year career. Page started out as an extra in 1924 but was handed a major breakthrough in 1928, starring alongside Crawford in Our Dancing Daughters.

At her peak, Anita Page was highly sought after in Hollywood and had truckloads of fan mail, probably second to Greta Garbo alone. And how many celebrities can lay claim to receiving multiple marriage proposals from Benito Mussolini in the mail?

One of Anita Page’s finest roles was as the prostitute, Jenny LeGrand, in the 1932 pre-Code movie, Skyscraper Souls. Her body was featured in a poster labeling her “The Ideal Movie Star”, which discussed her body parts and measurements, and another actress who possessed one comparable for each.

More recently, she had completed a cameo role in forthcoming horror movie Frankenstein Rising.
