We have all heard about the mantra – “Don’t put all your eggs into one basket.” This sounds like good and reasonable advice, especially when the stock market is fraught with uncertainty and you are a risk averse guy.
But it is also an investment sin to spread yourself too thin.

When a stock is added to an index, it is a testimony that the company has successfully created stockholder value.
A buying frenzy usually follows, especially mutual funds who scramble to add the stock to their portfolio.
The higher demand, coupled with limited shares in the market, inevitably drive the stock price higher.
